Matthew 4:4
Jesus answered, “It is written; ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
This year God is calling me to draw close to him through his word. Not just the ones I like, the comforting, sheltering words, but Every Word. Many times I find myself disagreeing with something in the Bible, I don’t fully understand.
1 Corinthians 13:12
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.
This is the year for me to read and begin to understand the Word. To read a portion of the Bible every day and to work hard at finding meaning and understanding so that I can be fully in agreement with the Lord. Should I not try to come to a fuller understanding now, instead of waiting for the time when I will fully know and be known? For me it is time to begin to know God’s word.
